Parent volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Murphy Elementary School District! We appreciate your dedication to our students and community. All volunteers must attend a Volunteer Training provided by the Parent Outreach Specialist.

Volunteers can be identified as parents, grandparents, community members, retirees, senior citizens, and presenters. Anyone who volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, must present a form of identification, and non-parent volunteers must conduct a background check with the district office.

Tier One

All Volunteers:

• Front Office

• Library

• Computer Lab

• Speak to class on my skills

• Demonstrate talent to class

• Field Day

• Event Set-Up

Parents Only:

• Assist in the classroom

• Tutoring

• Attend Day Field Trip

(All will be under teacher/staff supervision)

*Photo ID required for all tiers

Non-Parent/Community Volunteers:

In addition to the Background Check, Fingerprint Clearance is required

Tier Two

All Volunteers:

• Day Field Trip Chaperone

• Assist in classroom: Supervised

• Tutoring: Supervised

• Cafeteria Support

• Playground Support

Parents Only:

• Assist in the classroom

• Tutoring

Tier Three

Administrator Approval Required:

·      Coaching

·      Overnight Field Trips

·      After School Club

·      Nurse’s Office

·      21st Century- ELEVATE Before/After school club

·      Reading RtI-Intervention
