Established September 16, 1886 — Reimagined for the future.

For more than a century, Murphy ESD has been a cornerstone of our community. Today, we serve more than 900 students from kindergarten through 8th grade, and our purpose is stronger than ever: to prepare every child to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

At Murphy ESD, we believe school should be more than academics. It should be a place where students discover their strengths, feel seen and supported, and learn how to lead.

This belief drives everything we do—from building innovative learning experiences to creating safe, nurturing environments where every student can grow with confidence.

Every child deserves a strong start, which is why free breakfast, lunch, and after-school meals are provided to all students. When students are nourished and cared for, they can focus on learning, exploring, and imagining what’s possible.

We are proud of our history, but our vision is forward-focused. As we look ahead, we remain committed to developing future leaders and building a district that is innovative, inclusive, and ready to empower the next generation of thinkers, doers, and dreamers.
