Goals: Students will examine several aspects of the Roman Empire.
Materials: Smartboard, books on the Romans, printout of Safari Montage video quiz.
Introduction to the Topic: Ask the students what they learned so far about the Roman Empire. Show them some books that can be found on the topic.
Procedures: Examine the life of the Romans using the BBC Online website. Click to learn more about Romans from BBC Online.
Take a look at Roman gladiators. Click to go to the Roman Gladiator page. Tell the students that it is important to remember information about the gladiators for a game that you are going to play later.
Show The Rotten Romans video from Safari Montage. Have the students fill out the worksheet as they watch the video.
Assessment Options:
Play the Roman Gladiator Game. Click to dress a Roman Gladiator for battle.
Review the answers to the quiz.
Shout outs about what they learned.
