Title: Using Various Resources for Research

Recommended Grade Level(s): 6-8

Goal(s): Students will be able to use various resources found in the library to research a topic.

Materials: Smartboard, computers, books, resource worksheet click to get resource worksheet .

Introduction to the Topic: Ask the students about topics they would like to learn more about. Then brainstorm as a class where they could find the information. Put ideas on the Smartboard.

Procedures:

Review where the students can find the various resources. Students decide on a topic of interest. They can work alone or with a partner.

Pass out the resource worksheets. Students use the various resources within the library in order to fill out the resource worksheet.

Assessment Options:

Students explain their resources to the class.

Students pair share what they learned with another student.

Students write something they learned on the Smartboard.
