Murphy School District 21 is currently developing a new operating budget for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year.  Historically this has been a fairly simple process, however this year's budget planning process will not be as easy.  We are in the middle of a global economic recession that has had major negative impacts on the State of Arizona's Education funding.

In order to build a fiscally responsible budget under these tough conditions, the District's Governing Board (at their December 14, 2009 meeting) authorized a Budget and Finance Committee to convene with the purpose of formulating recommendations.  This committee will meet in late January, February, and into March 2010.  The purpose of the committee is to make budget recommendations to the District Administration, of which will propose a final suggested budget to the Governing Board for approval and adoption.

The committee is comprised of Certified, Classified, and Administrative Staff, School Parents, and Students.  Representation is broad across all 4 Schools and the District office.  The committee is co-chaired by:

Mr. Paul Christensen

&
Mrs. Lorinda Brown
(Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment)
